This course provides training for officers and ratings. It comprises a basic training programme appropriate to their duties, including oil and chemical tanker safety, fire safety measures and systems, pollution prevention, operational practice and obligations under applicable laws and regulations.
The course takes full account of section A-V/1-1 of the STCW Code adopted by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers as amended, including the Manila amendments 2010.
Course content in accordance to the Model course 1.01 and STCW 2010 Code A-V/1-1-1
This course provides training for all officers and ratings as well those assigned specific duties and responsibilities related to cargo, cargo operations and cargo equipment on tankers. It comprises a familiarization training programme appropriate to their duties and responsibilities, including characteristics of tanker cargoes, their associated hazards, safety measures, pollution prevention, emergency operations, cargo equipment and cargo operations
Objectives: development of Tankers; tanker Terminology; rules and Regulations; safe Cargo Operations; precautions to prevent Hazards; occupational health and safety precautions and measures; fire-fighting and rescue operations; response to emergencies; precautions to prevent pollution of the environment from the release of cargo
Course is approved by Estonian Maritime Administration
