The Engine room simulator course is a hands-on training course designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of marine engineers in starting up and assessing the operational condition of shipboard engineering machinery. The course is based on the IMO Model course 2.07 and is approved by Estonian Maritime Administration, complying with the requirements of the STCW 2010 Code. It is an interactive course that also helps to foster team behavior and interpersonal roles during engine room watches.
The training institute has a STCW comliant 2 dual fuel engine room simulators consisting of a complete mimic panels of all machinery on modern ships including propulsion, bunkering, power generation, pollution prevention and cargo related equipments. It includes a automatic data logging facility to monitor the actions of candidates.
This course aims to provide knowledge and skills to operate, supervise and monitor safe operation and control of ship's machinery installation in accordance with the requirements laid down in STCW code as amended in 2010 Regulation I/12 and STCW code B-I/12.It also helps to understand team behavior and roles of personnel engaged in engine room watches.
The target groups are Chief Engineers, Second Engineers and all Engineering watch keeping officers.
Duration of the training 3 DAYS.
Operational Level (Holders of Watch Engineer license) 13 simulation exercises.
Management Level (Holders of Second Engineer and Chief Engineer) 15 simulation exercises.
Certificate: certificate of successful completion of Engine Room Simulator course operational level or management level as applicable.
Approval: Course is approved by Estonian Maritime Administration
Accommodation: if you require so, we shall arrange hotel for you. Course fee includes 2 nights in hotel and transfer from hotel to the training centre and back to hotel. The hotel is high quality 3 star SPA hotel. Hotel fee is 45 EUR per night single room, breakfast included. Transfer to training centre and back to hotel is complimentary.
