The aim of the course is to provide a minimum training of various aspects of water survival training for aircrews and designated flying personnel in a permissive environment. This training will contain a water survival initial course (WSIC) provided to designated flying personnel. Course can be combined with Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) and a theoretical and practical understanding of the compressed air Helicopter Underwater Emergency Breathing Apparatus (HUEBA). Duration of the course is 24 hours (2 days). The course may be part of SERE - SURVIVAL, ESCAPE/EVASION, RESISTANCE AND EXTRACTION (SERE) TRAINING STANDARD (Part Maritime SERE training).
The course may involve a degree of physical and mental stress. Therefore delegates will be required to complete a Medical Screening Form prior to the commencement of the course. The delegate should be in possession of a valid medical certificate if their health is in doubt.
