Those masters, officers and others who have immediate responsibility for the loading, discharging and care in transit or handling of oli will need to successfully complete this advanced programme of training in safety on a gas tanker, fire safety measures and systems, pollution prevention and control, operational practice and obligations under applicable laws and regulations if they are to attain the mandatory minimum training requirements prescribed by regulation V/1 of STCW 1978, as amended in 1995. 

Those successfully completing the course should be able to take immediate responsibility for any cargo operation on gas tankers.
