Aim and objectives: The aim and objectives of the training programme is to ensure that personnel preparing for a gas tester role are equipped with the knowledge to conduct gas tests for oxygen levels, flammable and toxic gases safely.
This training programme also equips the delegate with knowledge to conduct gas testing within confined spaces and awareness of associated confined space hazards.
Delegates will also learn about relevant legislative requirements, gas measuring and monitoring equipment and documenting gas test results.
Target audience: This programme is designed to meet the initial training and knowledge assessment requirements for personnel preparing to work as Authorised Gas Testers.
Course description: This course course is a replacement for the previous OPITO-Approved Authorised Gas Tester Level 1 & 2, following a change in standards by OPITO.
Module 1: Authorised Gas Tester
Module 2: Testing for flammable gas in preparation for hot work
Module 3: Confined Space Testing
Module 4: Gas Monitoring for Hot-Work Sites
You will be given two attempts at each module, and you must score 80% to pass. This course should take around 6 hours. However, we recommend you take your time and progress at a pace that you find comfortable.
Delegate pre-requisites: There are no pre-requisites.
