Those masters, officers and others who have immediate responsibility for the loading, discharging and care in transit or handling of oli will need to successfully complete this advanced programme of training in safety on a oil tanker, fire safety measures and systems, pollution prevention and control, operational practice and obligations under applicable laws and regulations if they are to attain the mandatory minimum training requirements prescribed by regulation V/1 of STCW 1978, as amended in 1995. Course content in accordance to the Model course 1.02 and STCW 2010 Code A-V/1-1-2. This course is arranged as per STCW 2010 Manila Amendments, Chapter V and provides training for masters, officers, pumpmen and any person with immediate responsibility for cargo operations, tank cleaning operations and care of cargo in transit.

Those successfully completing the course should be able to take immediate responsibility for any cargo operation on oil/chemical tankers. 

The following subjects will be covered: introduction to oil tankers; chemistry and physics; safety; rules and Regulations; pollution prevention; tanker design and equipment; cargo planning; cargo operations; ballast operation; tankcleaning and gasfreeing; ship/shore interface; emergency operations; risk management/contingency plan.

NB! Due to changes in the cost of services of the Transport Agency, persons who need to obtain a diploma remotely will have 50 EUR added to the price of the course.
